...and nobody cared.
...and nobody cared.
Political ideology is a smoke screen built on us doing something. Ideology moves bodies in a particular direction. Once everyone is doing some one thing; activity is taking place. Economic activity. Political activity. Social activity. People agreeing on doing something and then doing it.
...and one day they all said yes.
Republican ideology American-style abhors government involvement. Private industry can do a better job than government. The banks are private because only private individuals can turn a profit well. Corporations are advocates for better ways of living. Buy products and take pride in who you are. You are part of an indomitable spirit guided by an enlightened promise of salvation in the end. You will not be made to look a fool.
It won't be tolerated.
Democrat rhetoric, ala U.S.A., doesn't quite congeal into an ideology. It's too lumpy. Mostly liberal on issues of sex. Generally opposed to religious dogma requirements in the public sphere. Destined to hold the mantle of war, yet never seemingly brave enough to stop the engines of destruction. Prone to waiting for events to motivate response. On issues of social justice, mostly in agreement with Republican ideology.
If it ain't broke why fix it?
After leaders were exposed as possessing no core values to be believed, where did the people turn? Movie stars and athletes filled the void for a while until they said they didn't want the responsibility placed upon them. They didn't run for office. They didn't sign any agreements. They aren't your role models. Yet, there were some who continued to try to make them the role models.
...and one day they all said yes.
We don't care anymore. Powerless within an industrial bureaucracy packaged as democracy allowing money to dominate interest and agenda. The people spoke the other day and Fox News used it as a brief bit of news to be forgotten tomorrow. MSNBC ran a poll and somebody spoke to be forgotten five minutes later in most cases. Propaganda is so good now, they don't even use that word anymore. What was the brand of cola they drank on that one show?
...and they all said yes.
So what's left for us if we no longer have leaders?
Directions are needed, are they not?
What do you do when you have nothing left but questions with no real answers?
Some may opt to refrain from the challenge. Some will cling to old answers which worked before. Some regard the unknown with blind optimism. All of us will move forward. The future is inescapable and it is awaiting. Each moment unfolds from the moment before and disruption causes ripples in calm waters. Swimming upstream the drag of a river's current impedes. Swimming downstream allows navigation of greater distances.
When the questions have no sensible answers it's time to change the scene.
Having a reason to care should be an inalienable right.

Amen!

It's what the French call raison d'etre. The reason of life (to be). I think you're so valid in your claims.
