February 18th Birthdays

(1920) Jack Palance- He always seemed real "cool."

(1925) George Kennedy- I liked his work in "Cool Hand Luke" and "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot."

(1931) Toni Morrison- I highly recommend "The Bluest Eye."  It's a great book.

(1947) Dennis De Young- Styx made a lot of great music.

(1950) John Hughes- This guy wrote: "Mr. Mom," "Vacation," "Sixteen Candles," "The Breakfast Club," "Weird Science," "Pretty in Pink," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," "Some Kind of Wonderful," "The Great Outdoors," "Uncle Buck," "Christmas Vacation," "Home Alone" and "Planes, Trains and Automobiles."  John Hughes may just be one of the most dominant voices of a generation.

(1954) John Travolta- He'll always be Vinnie Barbarino to me.

(1964) Matt Dillon- He's a great actor!

(1965) Dr. Dre- "Yeah!  Hell yeah!  Know what I'm saying?"
(Sometimes not really, but I still like his music.)

(1968) Molly Ringwald- She was prolific in the 80's and not too hard on the eyes either.
